With free upgrades, it's hard to see how this happens, but it's true: a majority of people are using out of date browsers. A lot of people out there are running old versions of IE or Netscape. You'll need Netscape Navigator 2, Netscape Navigator 4, and IE 3 at the bare minimum to test your html. But, my alternative is to either become an HTML expert (not bloody likely), let VP make all my pages slow, or let FrontPage add a bunch of IE-only code.

Many of my pages just showed up as blank. I had to hand code to get Netscape working. Also, FrontPage writes HTML which works in IE, but not always in Netscape. I had to leave that environment when I made my navigation bars - FrontPage has it's own opinion, which it will not allow you to override. This web site was originally laid out in MS FrontPage. The rest of this is about fast load times. Willing to annoy your customers? Ignore all this and just buy MS FrontPage. I consider anything over 10 seconds annoying.
